Madam Dakoa Newman has assured her constituents that she will deliver on her mandate with “deep passion, divine wisdom and humility.”

She insists she will ensure the constituency is well represented in Parliament.

made this known in the post via her social media handles on Friday, January 8, 2021, a day after her swearing-in as MP.

“In the early hours of 7th January 2021, I swore the Oath of Member of Parliament and the Oath of Allegiance as the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei South Constituency. “

“This is the start of my journey to serve and by the grace of the Almighty I will dispense this duty with a deep passion, divine wisdom and humility.”

She (Dakoa Newman) further said she will not let her constituents down but make sure their “issues are duly channelled to the central government.”

“The trust and confidence you have in me were reflected in a resounding victory on 7th December 2020, and I will do my utmost best to ensure that our great constituency is well represented in Parliament and our issues are duly channelled to the central government.”

About election

Dakoa Newman won the 2020 parliamentary elections for Okaikwei South with 40,393 votes on the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Her closest contender, Mr. Abraham Kotei Neequaye of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had 26,019 votes.

The total valid votes were 66,412; rejected ballots, 444; and total votes cast were 66,856.
